What is Orthokeratology?

Orthokeratology also known as “OK Lens” or “Ortho-k” is a process that uses special contact lenses to temporary reshape the shape of the cornea during your sleep. By reshaping the cornea at night, you can benefit from clearer vision during the day without the use of prescription contact lenses or glasses.

What are the benefits?

In addition to the benefit of lens-free daytime vision, orthokeratology has the ability to slow the progression of myopia. Clinical studies have determined that orthokeratology lens designs inhibit the growth of the eye’s axial length, which determines the degree of myopia.

Who are good candidates for Orthokeratology?

Good candidates for Ortho-k are individuals who want to control myopia, as well as the freedom of not having to wear glasses or contact lenses during the day. With enhanced technique and modern designs, candidate with significant prescriptions may now benefit from the use of myopia control lenses. Please consult with our doctors for additional information.
